Our help

Many families struggle to make ends meet from time to time. We believe that children shouldn’t suffer because of their circumstances.

Our emphasis is on ensuring that our local children have the necessities of 21st century life. No application is too small.

How we can help

We provide low value funding, usually in the range of £50 to £1,000, for any activity or item such as safety equipment, school kit etc. to benefit a child’s wellbeing or welfare.

We will NOT provide funding for medical and dental procedures OR for any items and bills that have already been processed.

Every application is considered and approved by our Directors without delay – most application decisions are made within 24 hours.

Who can apply

Applications are for children and young people under the age of 18.

All applications MUST be completed by a professional such as:

• Health Worker
• Social Worker
• Teacher
• Social Prescriber
• Doctor
• Charity Organisation

All applications are kept confidential, and your information is not passed on to anyone without your permission.

All applications must be completed by a professional. This could be by a Social Worker, Health Worker, Teacher, Doctor etc. Please include all contact information.

About us

Help a Guernsey Child was established on 12 January 2001 to raise funds for children in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Our Directors consider each application individually and with great care. All details remain confidential and are not shared without your express consent to do so.

Our focus over recent times has been to work with individual cases rather than larger projects as this seems to be the main gap in local funding.

Our charity has been operating for over 21 years and has donated sums totalling in excess of one million pounds for the benefit of children in the Bailiwick.

Unfortunately the demands are forever increasing, we received a greater number of applications this year than in any previous year.
